Slava

Gen depth 26 MTRS

Mined when outward bound from Cardiff 16.3.40 Apparently on its side near rock outcrop. Fished this one, its easy to find on an echo sounder as its surrounded by a very flat ground so it stands out in comparison. Hit a shoal of tope there and a few congers.

Off Nash Point

James McGee

Steam Tanker

9,859 Tons

Sunk 20.6.40 (Mined)

symbol Wk 14 MTRS

Gen depth 18 MTRS

Lies in 2 parts

I have fished this one many times and it produces good conger (several in the 30 - 40lbs category) which is very good for this area. Its surrounded by rock ground so is hard to identify without a magnetometer.

Found this with the magnetometer. Gives clear echo sounder trace. Unfortunately by the time we anchored (nowhere near close enough to the wreck) the tide was far to strong so only managed a few dogfish. I don't have any more info on this one and would be interested to find out what ship it is.
